Where do funds go that are raised by Bainbridge In Bloom?

The Bainbridge in Bloom Garden Tour is the lead fundraising event for the Arts & Humanities Council. Its mission is to create an environment on Bainbridge Island in which the arts and humanities flourish. The Arts & Humanities Council provides coordination and advocacy for Bainbridge Island's nonprofit arts and humanities organizations, and programs and community education in response to the island's cultural needs.

The Arts & Humanities Council also offers an array of programs and services, including:

  • Bainbridge Island Arts Education Community Consortium, an award-winning, community-based arts learning program in the Island's public schools reaching 3,500 public school students grades K-12;

  • Celluloid Bainbridge Film Festival, showcasing cinema with a Bainbridge connection;
  • Great Decisions discussion series, a community exploration into world affairs issues;
  • Student Art Contest, inviting more than 600 artistic entries from school children each year.
  • April's National Poetry Month celebration, exhibiting poems by local writers throughout Bainbridge with Poetry Corners, and other unique poetry events.
  • Currents, our seasonal arts magazine highlighting local cultural events and opportunities, delivered to every Island household.
  • The Island Treasure Awards, recognizing Islanders who enhance cultural life through significant contributions to the arts and humanities.
  • The Amy Awards, a grant program supporting emerging artist in the performing and visual arts.
  • The Citys Public Art Program, providing extraordinary art in public spaces.
  • Free professional development and support for local artists and art organizations through Artists' Roundtables, Cultural Reps monthly meetings, publishing an Island-wide Cultural Calendar, providing Fiscal Agency, and holding a Washington Lawyers for the Arts Legal Clinic.


Does my General Admission ticket allow me to go on Saturday or Sunday?

Your ticket is good for either day.


Is my ticket refundable if I find out I can't attend?

No. All ticket sales are final but you can give your ticket to someone else.


How should I dress?

This is a rain-or-shine event. Please dress appropriately and wear comfortable walking shoes. We suggest backpacks or fanny packs in lieu of heavy purses.


Where do I park?

Parking on Saturday and Sunday is at Woodward Middle School.

Can I drive to the gardens?
No (unless you purchase a Patron Preview Day ticket for Friday, July 8th)


Will there be food available? Can I bring my own food?

Several local Bainbridge chefs will be offering portable snacks and beverages available for purchase along the Garden Tour route. Limited seating will be available at designated gardens. Please enjoy the food choices offered or feel free to bring your own picnic. There are also numerous excellent restaurant choices on Bainbridge Island. Can I bring my pet?

For everyone's safety and comfort, please leave pets at home.


Where are the restroom facilities?

There will be several port-a-potty stations throughout the Garden Tour loop.
Locations will be designated on the map and in the program visitors will receive.
