Garden #2
It is a story of renewal and preservation. Bainbridge Island has a history of garden luminaries and this property was once home
to a noted garden writer who collected prized plants. Years later when the current owners purchased the house, the garden was
completely overgrown. Upon clearing the blackberries and transplanting hundreds of mature shrubs, they began to unearth wonderful
specimens that have become focal points for their garden. Of these, perhaps the most beautiful is the stately multi-trunk Cercidiphyllum
japonicum (Katsura tree) that forms the centerpiece of the elegant entrance courtyard to their French country style home.
