Taking a cue from California style outdoor living, the owners have artfully extended their home into the garden. Working with landscape architect Robin Hanway (Robin Hanway Landscape Architecture), they transformed a narrow space into a multi-function garden that can be used in all seasons. Generous furniture surrounds an outdoor fireplace, enclosed by a pergola with a covered roof to protect during inclement weather. A stylish in ground soaking tub is nearby, so unobtrusive that it doubles in appearance as a water feature. The sunny tangerine colored cushions are echoed in pots and the plantings surrounding the area, such as the cinnamon colored bark of the Betula nigra, weaving the space together.
