Kitsap Bank Steps Up as
New Presenting Sponsor of Bainbridge in Bloom Garden Tour

Bainbridge in Bloom, one of the Northwest’s most
esteemed and venerable garden tours, is pleased to announce
and welcome its new presenting sponsor Kitsap Bank. Founded
in 1908, Kitsap Bank is one of the longest-running locally
owned and operated community banks in the State of Washington.
Kitsap Bank participates in many community events throughout
the five counties it serves. With over 97 years of community
service, Kitsap Bank continues a long family tradition of
benevolence and investment in the arts by becoming the lead
sponsor of this treasured event.
As its major fundraising event, Bainbridge in Bloom supports
the cultural programming of the Bainbridge Island Arts &
Humanities Council, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary
in 2006.

The 2006 tour will take place the weekend of July 15 and
16, with the Private Preview Event on Friday, July 14.

go to benefit the Bainbridge Island Arts & Humanities

an environment on Bainbridge Island in which the arts and

Call for Artists: Bainbridge in Bloom Art Fair
18th Annual Garden Tour July 15 & 16.
Submissions are being accepted for the 2006 Bainbridge
in Bloom Garden Tour Art Fair, to be held on July 15 and
16, at Bainbridge High School. Artwork will be juried, and
artists will be notified by March 20. In the selection process,
preference will be given to artwork with a garden theme.
Selected artists will provide their own 10' x 10' booth.
The fee for a booth is $150. One additional artist may join
another artist’s booth for a fee of $75, for a total
of $225.
Interested artists should send an application form (call
842-7901 to request), along with 5-10 slides and/or photographs
of work, resume and/or bio, and a return envelope with correct
postage (SASE) for the return of materials. Artists may
submit digital images on CD or via e-mail to: admin@artshum.org
The deadline for submissions is March 1.

Call for Artists: Bainbridge
in Bloom Poster
18th Annual Garden Tour July 15 & 16.
Submissions of artwork are being accepted for the 18th
annual Bainbridge in Bloom Garden Tour poster and postcard.
The poster and postcard are important publicity pieces for
the Northwest's premier tour of exquisite home gardens.
Suitable artwork should be garden related, and may be two
or three-dimensional. Ideally, original artwork will also
be available for sale at the event.
Interested artists should submit 5-10 slides and/or photographs
of work, a résumé or bio, and a self-addressed
stamped envelope for return of materials to:

Materials submitted without an SASE will not be returned.
The deadline for receipt of submissions is January
30, 2006 and selected artwork will be announced
in early February.
The 18th annual Bainbridge in Bloom Garden Tour will take
place July 15 and 16, 2006.

Bainbridge in Bloom
Garden Tour Announces New Coordinator
18th Annual Bainbridge in Bloom Garden Tour dates are July
15 and 16, 2006
The Bainbridge Island Arts & Humanities Council announces
that long time Islander Cynthia Herrick has been selected
as Bainbridge in Bloom Garden Tour coordinator.
Ms. Herrick’s resume includes extensive experience
relevant to the position, including ten years at Bainbridge
Gardens as sales manager, floral designer, class instructor,
and event coordinator. She has also taught floral design
and craft classes through the Bainbridge Island Park and
Recreation District, and has recently created her own interior
space renovation and landscaping design business, Over the
Top.
With deep roots in the community and a long list of volunteer
contributions, she brings a great deal of “people
equity” to the garden tour position. She says “
I am very pleased and proud to be able to serve my community
of 33 years through Bainbridge in Bloom. I encourage you
to step forward and join our team of outstanding volunteers.
Together we can showcase to the Northwest our wonderful
Island, glorious gardens, and strong community involvement.
With everyone’s help we can make this make this major
fundraising event for the Bainbridge Island Arts & Humanities
Council a blooming success.”
The annual Bainbridge in Bloom Garden Tour showcases the
ambiance of the gardens and the essence of Bainbridge in
an event touted as premier among garden tours. Throughout
the region and beyond, Bainbridge Island is recognized as
a community that creates, celebrates, and shares its garden-oriented
lifestyle.
